Victory Day is a celebration of the victory of the Red Army and the Soviet people over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 8, 1945 and celebrated on May 9 of each year. Since 1965, Victory Day is a non-working holiday. From this time begins the mass release of postcards dedicated to Victory Day. Great popularity gained in modern Russia.
