Selection of decks of cards
Animal tarot cards were published in different countries by different publishers. The deck's title, "The Inverted World," vividly captures the satirical nature of its depictions of animals in human form. This satirical approach is an attempt to somehow mock human habits and vices.
Animal themes flourished especially prominently in greeting cards in the USSR. Totalitarian countries suppressed all human joys and passions, and by depicting animals, artists broke free from the constraints imposed by "pseudo-morality."
