Erotic photographs have almost always been forbidden in the world, and even more so in Russia. The taboo topic has given rise to a mystery for historians about their origin and the date of commencement of production in the USSR. This deck is one of the earliest and the quality of the photographs is original. Many photos appear in other decks, sometimes in good condition, sometimes you can see that this is a reprint. Some researchers and publishers, from my point of view, mistakenly date such a deck to the pre-revolutionary period. Which is completely wrong. According to the world catalog of playing cards, there are no decks of erotic themes with photographs of naked women in any country of the world during this period. The first erotic photo decks began to be published in the 1940s in the United States, for the military sent to participate in the war against Nazi Germany. In the USSR, until Stalin's death in 1953, no one would have dared to print such maps. Accordingly, the earliest could appear in the mid-50s during the Khrushchev thaw. At this time, even official publishing houses began to produce romantic cards. As for the models in the photo, this is either a reprint from old postcards (it would be interesting to know the opinion of nude postcard collectors) or there is a small chance of original photographs by Soviet photographers. In any case, in the USSR, from the mid-1950s to 1991, an incredible number of erotic photo decks were published. Photo printing was the only available non-dominant method of replication.
