Perhaps the deck was printed for Turkey, or more likely, for an exotica. Interest in foreign life, unlike European culture, gives rise to artistic imagery. In fact, all decks of playing cards in Turkish costumes known to me were not produced in Turkey. First issued in 1810-1826 by Industrie Comptoir (in Leipzig)
