Playing cards Side of the World (Code: g00763)

This deck was announced by Alexander Perelman

Sankt-Petersburg, 1995
as never published Deck  of russian artist Adolf Sharleman
named "Sketches for patience playing-cards".
Prepared in 1862, but was forbidden by Imperor.
But there is the same deck in the Victoria&Albert Museum (London).
From Catalogue:  2 decks printed in  1885, dimension 44x61 mm,
backs decorated with a star trellis in red and blue respectively.

I, too, came across such a deck in a heavily played state. Reissued in 1997. There was 1 circulation. And the pre-revolutionary editions are a rarity, and the 1997 edition is the dream of many collectors.
