Unusual section of the site. It contains cards produced in one factory - Combine color printing. The factory for the period of its existence from 1817 to 2004 has repeatedly changed its name.

In 1817, Emperor Alexander I consented to the construction of a Card Factory attached to the Alexander Manufactory of an educational home. At the same time, the import of cards from abroad was prohibited, which eliminated any competition.

The initiative to create a card factory belonged to the manager of the Alexander manufactory. In 1860, the Alexander manufactory closed; Card factory remained its only active part.

In 1918, the Imperial Card Factory was taken over by the Commissariat of Social Assistance of the Union of Communes of the Northern Region, in 1919 it was subordinated to the Printing Department of the Economic Council of the Northern District and was mothballed. In October 1922 she was under the authority of the People's Commissariat of Finance, in 1928-1931. submitted to the trust "Lenpoligraf", in 1931-1935. - Commissariat of Finance of the USSR. In 1935, it was transferred to the competence of the People's Commissariat (from March 1946 - the Ministry) of the food industry of the USSR and renamed to the 2nd artistic printing house, since 1953 it was subordinate to the Ministry of Food Industry of the RSFSR. In September 1957, it became known as the 3rd offset printing factory of the Office of the Printing Industry of Lensovnarhoz, and in 1967 it was renamed the Combine of Color Printing.

From the very beginning and until the collapse of the USSR, it was the only factory that officially issued playing cards, and many collectors are looking for and collecting cards of this factory.
